Whoosh Hit - Dragon Roll

 

 

Made this sound for AVA - INSTINCT.

All the recordings are original with a few synth elements.

 

The secret trick is the "slice transients to midi" function.
Very hard to achieve without.

Here's a more advanced tutorial that is further broken down in my Evenant course.

The idea is to simulate drums physics by using noise, filters and reverbs.

 

The secret here is to map velocity to multiple parameters to create round robins.

In context - "The Roll" was used quite a lot in the Star Wars Battlefront II trailers.

In this clip, it's used 4 times.
